Ben Skipps

Hi I’m Ben, Computer Science teacher at OH-SO ED. I teach KS3 and iGCSE courses in Computer Science and ICT.

I’ve always been fascinated by technology and its power to transform the way we live, work, and communicate. This passion led me to a career in education, where I’ve spent the last 18 years teaching and inspiring students in UK secondary schools—including six years as Head of ICT.

My teaching style is kind, compassionate, and student-centred. I believe in creating a supportive learning environment where every student feels confident to explore, ask questions, and develop their skills. Whether we’re coding, discussing cybersecurity, or exploring the impact of digital technology on society, I make sure lessons are engaging, relevant, and accessible to all learners.

I am passionate about making Computer Science inclusive and exciting for all learners. Seeing students grow in confidence—whether they’re writing their first program or mastering complex concepts—is what makes teaching so rewarding.
