Safeguarding

Dear Parents,
OH-SO ED Safeguarding Policy are as follows:

  1. If you have any concerns or questions regarding any of the above, please do get in touch via leanne@ohsoed.co.uk
  2. It must be noted that attendance of these classes does not remove or replace your parental duty to provide a suitable education for your child. OH-SO EDUCATE is not a school.
  3. Parents and students are asked to be respectful towards the teacher delivering the lesson. Respect must also be shown to other students within OH-SO EDUCATE lessons.
  4. Access to the online lesson platform Google Classroom is only accessible via an invitation from OH-SO ED. Upon booking, you will receive a Google Classroom invitation. An integrated meet link will appear in the main classroom stream. This link must not be shared with any third parties outside of this group.
  5. Your child/young person must take part in the online lesson in a suitable communal room. All members of the household must be aware that the lesson is taking place and should make sure they use appropriate language and behaviour when nearby or in the background. Please ensure there is no background music due to the risk of it having explicit or offensive content (even from another room) or publications in sight (calendars, books, posters) which may offend in any way.
  6. OH-SO EDUCATE will record live lessons and upload these on the Google Classroom after the lesson has taken place. Only OH-SO ED teachers and resources will be recorded. No student interaction will appear in the uploaded material.
  7. It is forbidden for parents or students to record, livestream, screenshot or photograph during the lesson.
  8. You and your child may contact your teachers via the Google Classroom. Please do not contact teachers using any other online tools or other social media methods outside of the pre-arranged calls and lesson times. Any contact with the teacher will take place through OH-SO EDUCATE and through leanne@ohsoed.co.uk in the first instance.
  9. If your child is of an age where they are using social media you will make them aware that they should never send any friend requests or try to contact the teacher in any way outside of pre-arranged lessons. A teacher is never able to accept ‘friend requests’ from a student on any social media platform.
  10. Teachers will set home study tasks on the Google Classroom. Completed work should then be uploaded on the google classroom for marking. Please note, at KS3 and Pre-GCSE level, it is not the teacher’s responsibility to chase missing home study tasks or to contact parents regarding a lack of submitted work. At GCSE level however, teachers may make parents aware of missing work should the issue arise.
  11. It is the responsibility of the parent to book exams and liaise with the exam centres when the time arises. We are a partner of Tutors and Exams. Information regarding the booking of exams can be obtained on their website: https://www.tutorsandexams.uk/
  12. Once you have signed your child up for a course, this place cannot be offered to another student once the course has started. Therefore, if you wish your child to be removed from a course this must be done in writing stating the individual circumstances. Please also note that although monthly payments can be stopped by us at any point throughout a course, no refund will be given, including any deposits paid.
  13. In the event of a missed payment past the due date, parents will be contacted by our admin. If we are unable to obtain payment from you within a 4-week period past this due date, we may remove your child from the course and no refunds will be given.

If you have any concerns or questions regarding any of the above, please do get in touch via leanne@ohsoed.co.uk
